The Orange County Disability Awareness Council (OC DAC) reaffirms its commitment to advocating for disability rights and awareness with its annual celebration of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) anniversary. Established in 1991 as a private nonprofit 501(c)(3), OC DAC serves communities in Carrboro, Hillsborough-Chapel Hill, Orange County, and the Research Triangle Park area.
The ADA Anniversary Event :
- Recognition of Achievements: Notable honorees include Carolyn Marshall Covington, Founder and President of Insightful Visionaries, a 501-3C nonprofit recipient of the Citizen of the Year award. Www.insightfulvisionaries.org
- Engaging Activities: Attendees can explore vendor exhibitions showcasing innovative products, participate in a silent auction featuring items such as jewelry, gift items, and CPR training sessions.
- Educational Workshops: OC DAC will conduct professional workshops addressing ADA Titles 1, 2, 3, and 4 compliance, awareness training, and specialized technology education, aiming to empower businesses and individuals with necessary skills.
